I’m supposed to be on a spending diet. It’s not going great.
This is the one exception: I’m not subscribed to any streaming service and I’m not allowed to rent movies.
Thank god there’s YouTube. And DVDs in my shelves.
Reading Mr. Darcy’s Diary was an excellent idea, because it put me in the mood for some Austen; I’ve got a fair bit of Austen in my shelves and have embarked on an Austen marathon, which will keep me occupied for quite some time.
I’ve just finished watching the BBC adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, up net: Becoming Jane.
There are things I love about this movie and some things…not so much. For example. I like to turn it off before Jane is old. Because I cannot stand that makeup. One thing I really do like, though, is James McAvoy’s Darcy character (I know he’s not actually playing Darcy, but the character is clearly based in Darcy; in my mind it’s the same playing Darcy). Especially when he walks through the forest with a vengeance.
I also deeply appreciate that there are people uploading the latest season of the British Bake Off to YouTube. It’s possible I’m only watching it for Noel Fielding. Maybe. So that is also on my to-watch list.
You’d think that it being October and all, there would be lots of vlogs to watch, but literally none of the YouTubers I subscribe to are doing Vlogtober. What is up with that? I’m clearly subscribed to the wrong people.
Hopefully, by the time I lift this self-imposed ban, the movie Borg is available to rent because I am so interested in this movie. Not sure why. I mean it’s a movie about a tennis player. And I hate sports.
Maybe it’s the hair. And the headband. Also, I refuse to call this movie by its English title.
This has been an Endless Blog Challenge post.
