When I ws younger I was always annoyed at songs having the same title. Especially songs that are popular to any extent. Like really, do you lack imagination completely??
I’ve since grown to enjoy this trait. It makes for a fun an simple exercise in comparison.
Obviously, there is more than one song called England. Here’s three I find in my playlists:
PJ Harvey. Actually, if you’re going to listen to one of these, don’t listen to this one.
The National. You’re much better off listening to The National’s England. Put an ocean and a river. Between everything, yourself, and home.
Deaf Havana. This is by far my favorite. Not least because I listened to this track, specifically the lines: ‘Cause the world isn’t old as a vampire. England just might be
‘Cause it wears me out, drains the joy thinking Why is he trash-talking England, that seems mean! (My love for the UK is unreasonable, I know.)
And that is how I found out this is an English band. Was so sure they were from the US.
